About
Claire Maryniak, MA, PMP
Claire is happiest at the intersection of culture, language, and innovative solutions with the power to change the world. She studied in translation, linguistics, and sustainable development, and worked in non-profits and cleantech start-ups before launching Flux.
As an American who has lived in Montreal since 2007, Claire has a strong understanding of the linguistic sticking points that trip up native French speakers when they use English. Working with her means benefiting from her over ten years of hands-on experience in translation, management, marketing, and communication.
Claire earned a Master’s in Translation Studies (Concordia University) after having completed a Bachelors’s in French with minors in Translation and Linguistics. Years in industry led her to obtain Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, to do the McGill Executive Institute’s Executive Development Course, and to complete the Université de Sherbrooke’s Graduate Microprogram in Environment and Sustainable Development.
Driven by a deep interest in education, culture, and creation, she sits on the Board of Directors of l’Ancre des Jeunes and is a volunteer guide at the Château Ramezay Historic Site and Museum of Montreal. She is also involved with the Women in Tech Manifesto and co-founded the Beautiful Things Project.
